SEND Inclusive Education Service
We are a team of experienced teachers and classroom practitioners. We support mainstream schools to embed and understand strategies and provision for learners with SEN from Nursery to Year 11. Our approach is collaborative; we work with schools to highlight what is working well and identify any potential areas for development . We aim to strengthen collaboration between the local authority and schools to ensure all children thrive within their local school. We want to empower mainstream schools to deliver high quality SEND provision and feel confident implementing this in order to meet every student's individual needs. Each WCC and RBKC school will have a link SEND Inclusive Education Teacher who can offer:
•Child and classroom observations
•Reflections and planning with SENCOs and class teachers to create appropriate action plans and next steps
•Support with the implementation and understanding of strategies and provision via modelling and advice
•Support with adaptive teaching and planning
•Information on training and offer from other services where appropriate
Our SENDIE practitioners can support with modelling of strategies such as bucket time, visual timetables, intensive interaction and much more!

Educational Psychologists
Educational Psychologists work together with schools to improve education outcomes. We support vulnerable children and young people, and those with SEND, by applying high quality psychology. Every state-maintained nursery, primary and secondary school (including free schools and academies) has a named link Educational Psychologist (EP). The level of support from an EP is depends on the type of support package a school purchases. Support from an EP can include:
•School visits and staff drop-in/consultations and supervision sessions
•Support with wellbeing and training of school staff and SENCos and Inclusion managers (e.g. Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA), Video interaction Guidance, Person centred planning using PATH/MAPS tools.)
•Interventions with children and young people either individually or in small groups using a consultation model. The consultation model means working together with schools and families to find solutions to problems at school. This can be done through meetings or conversations, where everyone shares ideas and makes decisions together. It helps teachers, families, and sometimes the child, to think about what is working, what needs help, and what can be done.
Age: Primary & Secondary
Cost: Fee based. This is a traded service. Schools will need to purchase packages of support.
Referral information
School SENCOs can discuss children they are concerned about with their link EP and, if appropriate, complete a request for EP involvement framework with the parent. The level of EP support is dependent on the school’s purchased support package. EPs also have a statutory role and are involved with Education, Health and Care needs assessments.

Trauma informed training
Our Early Help service provides trauma-informed training for schools. This training helps schools and professionals understand how trauma affects learning, emotional regulation, and behaviour. Trauma makes it difficult for children to engage in learning and develop positive relationships with peers and teachers. This can result in challenging behaviours and disruption to education. Through this training your school staff will be better equipped to identify and address the impact of trauma on a child or young person's education.
