Duke of Edinburgh Award
Actions
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a flexible, inclusive programme for 14–24 year-olds that helps young people build confidence, resilience, and essential life and work skills. It’s recognised by employers and universities as a mark of achievement.
Participants can earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards by completing activities in key areas:
- Volunteering
- Physical activity
- Skills development
- Expedition
- (Gold only): Residential project
The DofE is open to all, regardless of background or ability. It’s about personal challenge, not competition.
Programmes are run through Licensed Organisations (e.g. schools, youth groups), with support from trained Leaders. Young people (or their carers) pay for a Participation Place and receive guidance throughout their journey.
