The Family Information Service for Kensington and Chelsea and for Westminster is a free, confidential and impartial information, advice and signposting service for families with children aged up to 19 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs) and for the professionals working with them.
Our service provide advice, information and guidance to parents/carers and to young people on:
- Nurseries and Childminders
- Government-funded childcare options available
- Starting a career in childcare
- Family Hubs and Children's Centres
- Starting school - including school nursery applications and what to do if you don’t get a place
- Out of school hours clubs and wraparound childcare
- Benefits, grants and financial support
The Family Information Hub website is a resource containing up-to-date information of all OFSTED-registered childcare in the Borough, including:
- Childminders
- Day nurseries
- Pre-schools, nursery schools and community nurseries
- Holiday playschemes
- Before and after-school clubs
- Heath services
- local authority support services for children and families
- local organisations
- Parent and toddler groups
- Activities for children, young people and families
In addition, our 'Professionals Hub' is a centralised information resource for professionals working with children, young people and families, covering a wide range of matters such as:
