A doula is a birth companion trained in childbirth. They provide emotional, physical, and informational/educational support to a mother/birthing person who is pregnant, is experiencing labour, or has recently given birth.
Free online Birth Education Classes are available on Wednesday mornings. This 5 week course covers birth preparation, birth options, mental health and wellbeing and positive parenting.
If you would like to be referred to the service, please ask your midwife or health care professional to refer you via our website and confirm you are eligible.

Information for practitioners
We provide free services for women/birthing people from 27+ weeks, who and Kensington and Chelsea residents and find themselves without a birth partner, can not afford a doula privately and at least two of the following:
- Pregnant RBKC resident
- Lacking a birthing partner plus one of the following:
- They are from a marginalised community
- They are experiencing perinatal mental ill health
- English is their second language
If you would like to refer a pregnant woman or birthing person please visit the website and complete an online referral form.
