Kensington Aldridge Academy - Autism Inclusion Base (Kensington and Chelsea)

The Grandin Centre, Kensington Aldridge Academy, 1 Silchester Road, London W10 6EX, is a specialist autism resource base within a mainstream secondary school for young people aged 11-18 with an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism.

The provision supports autistic pupils to access the academic, social and enrichment opportunities of a mainstream school while benefiting from specialist teaching, personalised support and a structured environment tailored to their individual needs.

The Centre is staffed by specialist teachers and trained teaching assistants who work collaboratively to support pupils in developing their confidence, independence, communication skills, and social-emotional wellbeing. Students receive personalised support both within the Centre and in mainstream lessons, enabling them to access the curriculum, make meaningful progress, and achieve alongside their peers.

The provision is fully inclusive, with students attending mainstream classes throughout the school day while also benefiting from targeted interventions. The Centre provides a safe and nurturing base within the school, offering the additional support pupils need to engage successfully in learning, develop positive relationships, and build the skills required for adulthood, independence, and active participation in their community.
