Garden House School

Garden House School is a leading London day school offering Kindergarten, Pre-Prep and Prep schooling for girls and boys from three to eleven years of age.

We teach our boys separately from our girls, except in Kindergarten. We believe strongly girls and boys learn most effectively apart but have much to offer one another in the broader School environment. This is a structure rarely seen elsewhere in the British education system.

The Boys' School and the Girls' School are housed together in Turks Row, a purpose-designed and almost perfect space in central London. Chelsea is an exceptional area in which to run a school. The Royal Borough's unique association with Art and Literature filters through the Curriculum; we are inspired by Chelsea's history, architecture, style and energy. The School enjoys its green spaces and proximity to the River Thames.

Garden House is fortunate to have a garden, delightfully situated in the historic grounds of the Royal Hospital, a short walk from the main School building. Within these grounds, our children have space for walks and play during the School day. Sport is played in the South Grounds of the Royal Hospital, in Burton Court and across the river in Battersea Park. The children swim at two swimming pools in Chelsea and in Victoria. School plays are staged at The Royal Court Theatre, a leading national theatre in Sloane Square. All this is on our doorstep.

Nursery provision

The school offers nursery provision. Funded places available for eligible children.

This setting is registered to accept the Early Education and Childcare funded hours for:

• 15 hours 3 & 4 year olds (all children)

• 30 hours 3 & 4 year olds (working families)

Wraparound Childcare / clubs information:

Breakfast club: Yes.

After school clubs: Yes.

Holiday club: No.

Additional information:

Our broad curriculum is enhanced by a wide range of extracurricular activities being offered through before and after school clubs.  

Most clubs are open to children in Junior School (aged six years) upwards, although a few are open to younger children. There is an additional charge for clubs.

Clubs are held before school between 7.45am and 8.30am and after school between 4.05pm & 5.05pm (some finish later). On Friday there is a general sports club that runs from 2.30pm to 4.00pm.
