Mental Health Support Team (Mind)
Actions
Mental health challenges affect about 1 in 5 children and young people. They include depression, anxiety and challenging behaviour, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives. Evidence shows that across the UK, mental health challenges in young people are increasing. Our services are designed to provide timely, compassionate, and expert support to help young people navigate these challenges and build resilience.
Children and young people services:
Our Mental Health Support Teams support young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs.
We offer evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions to young people and parents/carers in 80 schools across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, delivered by Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs/CWPs) and an Assistant Psychologist.
Schools play a crucial role in promoting mental wellbeing and preventing mental health challenges developing. Our Whole School Approach Advisors work in schools to identify and address mental health issues early on. This free service includes a wide range of psychoeducational workshops available to young people, parents/carers, and staff.
The service covers 80 schools across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.
