Grand West Pre-Prep

Grand West is the vision of Stuart Bamford who is also the founder of Chelsea Pre-Prep and created Kingsland, which has just been named one of the top 6 schools in the world leading innovation and creativity in education. Our adventure first started in 2009, and since then we have passionately care for children and families in London as well as navigating parents through the London 4+ assessments and next schools.

Grand West will be docked at Lancaster Road, a mere 20 metres from Portobello Road. The school’s facilities will be remarkable, including a large garden for lots of outdoor learning and a art atelier, a welcome deck, a Makers room for experimenting and innovating, a performance studio and seven unique classrooms for children aged 2 to 4+.

Our Pre-Prep

Grand West Pre-Prep operates term-time only. There are three terms in the school year, beginning in September, January and April. We offer a morning session from 8:30am - 12pm, an afternoon session from 12:30pm - 4pm and full day sessions from 8:30am - 3pm.

Our team brings in a diverse and unique blend of experiences, knowledge and talents which will allow children to thrive and to become lifelong learners, makers and doers, possibility thinkers as well as being ready for future transitions. How can we nurture the thinkers and makers of tomorrow if we don’t give children a chance to imagine and to take risks?  At Rocket we transform our spaces into theatres of learning where spark and wonder keep children motivated to explore, adapt, persevere, and collaborate.

Our teachers nurture children’s understanding of the world and themselves as they build on their interests, thrills, questions and needs with hands-on projects which follow our four key values: Be Imaginative, Be Brave, Be Creative, Be Kind. For us schools should not just be a place where children sit waiting to be filled in with information but a place of connection, friendship, adventure, exploration, and discovery.

We also have peripatetic teachers to teach Ballet, Music, Yoga, Performance and Story-telling. Grand West Pre-Prep also offers children the chance to stay a full school day. Extra-curricular activities with specialised staff to encourage children to explore new talents and skills include Expressive Arts, Sports, Tarka & Tennis. The school also offers after-school clubs until 4pm and further activities.

This setting is registered to accept the Early Education and Childcare funded hours for:
