The Marmalade Duck is part of the Marmalade Schools which are a small group of Ofsted Outstanding nurseries in South West and West London.  There are six schools from Kensington down to Balham and all the schools are currently rated Outstanding by Ofsted.  The Marmalade Schools are inclusive of all families, traditional and non-traditional. We support families who have English as a second language and those who have disabilities.  We are passionate about giving all the children in our care the very best start to their educational experience, to encourage them to want to learn and progress in all the key areas of the curriculum.  We frequently hear from Reception teachers how well prepared the Marmalade Duck children are.  We have strong relationships with those next schools and seek to help and advise parents of where might suit their child best.

Located a short walk away from Holland Park and under the leadership of Headteacher Clare Robinson, The Marmalade Duck is a fun, happy and safe environment in which your child can develop at his/her own pace.  Miss Clare has successfully led an Outstanding School for eight years and we are thrilled that she has agreed to moved from The Marmalade Bear to run The Marmalade Duck.  The Marmalade Duck is based in a large and light hall which has been refurbished to make a bright and fabulous setting for the nursery.  There is an 'in out' terrace from the main hall and a spacious and secluded garden.

Marmalade Schools aim to provide your child with the very best nursery education, through ensuring we recruit trained staff who are passionate about early years education, ensuring that the school is well resourced and through employing specialist teachers to further enhance your child's time with us.  Our specialist subjects are: Multi Sports including Little Kickers, Gardening, Drama, Cooking, Pippa Poppets' Music, Chelsea School of Ballet, French with Club Petit Pierrot and Tarka.  Miss Clare is keen to encourage the children's love of the outdoor environment, through gardening, exploring the school garden; and monthly ecology, and weekly forest school sessions in Holland Park.

The Marmalade Duck operates during the term times only but will also provides a Summer Club which runs in the Summer holidays.

The Marmalade Schools have secured Outstanding Ofsted inspections at all four of their current schools.  These are some of the lovely comments they have made...

"Children flourish in this exciting and innovative nursery."

"Leaders are inspirational.  Leaders' exceptionally high expectations for every child are matched by the staff's ability to teach children to the highest level."

"Staff meticulously plan activities for children that cover all areas of learning exceptionally well."

"Children have high self-esteem and confidence because staff encourage children to try new things and try their best with daily activities."

"Staff work exceptionally well with parents.  They use a range of highly effective ways to keep informed about their childen's progress."

The lunches are nutritious and well balanced meals alongside the twice a day snacks which the school provides for all children. All our food is nut free and we cater for all alergies. All parents/carers are asked to fill out an allergies register at the beginning of the child's time at the Marmalade Duck and a list is kept in all classrooms, the kitchen and the office.
