Bookstart

Bookstart is designed to support families discover the magic of shared reading. The programme contains books, resources and activities that encourage and support family reading for young children at different stages as part of our early years reading journey.

Specialist Bookstart resources are also available for families with children with additional needs or those with English as an additional language.

Bookstart programmes include:

• Bookstart Baby for children 0-12 months old
• Bookstart Toddler/ Pre-schooler and Nursery 
• Dual language books 

In each local authority, Bookstart is administrated and coordinated by a Bookstart Coordinator who works with local partners to allocate the resources to the best effect. Please email for further information.
