Magic Mums is RPT's parenting programme that has been running successfully since 2012. It has been shown to have a profound and lasting impact, strengthening families and helping mums and carers to develop their parenting skills.
We run three sessions per week during school terms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays,. Mums can bring their younger children (up to school age), who are supervised during the course by qualified staff and supervised volunteers.
Currently, we are offer is:
- Tuesdays, 9:30am-11:30am: Stay & Play
- Wednesdays, 9:30am-12:00pm: Mindfulness & Support Group
- Thursdays, 9:30am-1:30pm (including lunch): Support & New Skills (topics change termly)
There is also the opportunity to join off-site trips and activities with your children. Some mothers and carers attend more than one session per week, depending upon the level of support they need, and there is no finite time that a mother can access the service.
The Programme Co-ordinator provides additional support for parents and carers by liaising with social services, signposting to other wellbeing support services and enabling parents to access volunteering and work opportunities.
As well as enjoying Magic Mums, parents and carers can access the Community Cupboard for lightly used baby clothes and equipment, maternity wear and seasonal clothes for the family. They are kindly donated by families whose children have grown up.
