ARK Brunel Primary Academy - Autism Inclusion Base (Kensington and Chelsea)

The Viaduct Autism Resource Base, Ark Brunel Primary Academy, Middle Row, North Kensington, London W10 5SW, is a specialist autism provision within a mainstream primary school for children of primary school age with an EHCP and a primary diagnosis of Autism.

The provision offers high staffing ratios, small class sizes and a highly personalised curriculum that is adapted to meet each child's individual strengths, interests, and learning profile. Pupils benefit from autism-specific teaching approaches while also having opportunities to access mainstream experiences and participate in the wider life of the school. Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy recommendations are embedded throughout daily learning and routines, ensuring pupils receive consistent support to develop their communication, sensory regulation, independence, and engagement in learning.

Pupils access one of three curriculum pathways designed to meet their developmental stage and learning profile. The Foundation Pathway focuses on developing the core skills needed to engage in learning, including attention, listening, play, engagement, and reciprocal communication. The Semi-Formal Pathway supports pupils to strengthen their communication and social understanding, enabling greater participation in structured learning. The Formal Pathway provides targeted support and interventions to help pupils access a broad curriculum, develop independence, and participate successfully in mainstream learning and wider school experiences where appropriate.

The Viaduct Provision aims to support children to become confident communicators, inquisitive learners, active members of their community, and well prepared for the next stage of their education. Staff use autism-specific communication and learning approaches and work alongside families and external professionals to ensure support is tailored to each pupil's individual needs. A strong emphasis on inclusion, helping pupils develop communication, independence, social understanding, and confidence within a nurturing and supportive environment.
