The trail is designed primarily for 5-10 year olds, but with a variety of stops and prompts it can be the springboard for conversation between parents and children of any age to engage with the museum collections.

A Passport to Leighton House family trail is supported by The Dr. Lee MacCormick Edwards Charitable Foundation.

Snapshot: During your visit

The Leighton House Garden: Take a break in the garden, enjoy some fresh air or make time for a snack and a game.

Pushchairs and prams: At Leighton House, buggies and push chairs can be used on all floors of the new wing and in the Learning Centre on the lower ground floor. Unfortunately, buggies and pushchairs can’t be taken into the historic house. At Sambourne House, due to this historic nature of the museum, there is no access for buggies and pushchairs. A limited number of buggies can be parked in the lower basement level during your visit but please note that there is no step free access to the museum so any buggy or pushchair must be carried down a short, steep flight of steps to reach the basement reception.

Breastfeeding: We’re breastfeeding-friendly venues.

Baby-changing facilities: At Leighton House, baby-changing facilities are available in the accessible toilets in the basement. At Sambourne House, due to the historic nature of this museum, there are currently no accessible toilets or baby change facilities.
