Leighton House
About the event
In July 2026, Leighton House marks 100 years since it opened as a public museum in Kensington. As part of our celebratory anniversary programme, the museum will host, for one week only, a spectacular one-twelfth scale miniature of the house and its richly decorated interiors, created by specialists Mulvany & Rogers.
Measuring 2.5m wide when fully opened and over 1m high, the miniature reimagines the iconic spaces of Leighton House in exquisite and painstaking detail. See Leighton's art collection in the Silk Room, the luminous turquoise tiles in the Narcissus Hall and the Arab Hall's golden dome and water feature.
'The Leighton House miniature arose from the personal interest of our client Sheikh Ahmed Khalid Al Thani, a long-time patron and friend, as he recognises Frederic Leighton's appreciative vision of Arab cultural heritage'.
Kevin Mulvany and Susie Rogers
As well as the opportunity for an exclusive close-up viewing, an introduction to the techniques and challenges involved in making of the miniature; enjoy a highlights tour through Leighton House itself to view the richly decorated interiors that feature in the model.
