Tangled Eagle; Life of Secretary Bird
'The ultimate goal of this collection is to show the power and authority of the eagle, which is based on my experience during my life across the world. These paintings are related to the Platinum Jubilee because the eagle has historically been used to represent the everlasting power and the reign of royals and dynasties. The image of the eagle has often been used in royal and military seals in Europe, as well as the middle east and east Asian regions.
The artworks are illustrated on traditional handmade Korean papers, and I have used gold and silver flakes to indicate the allure of eagles and their aura of elegance.'
