What is an EHCNA? (Education, Health and Care needs assessment)

This is the initial document submitted in the process which is then reviewed by the Early Years panel who look at the evidence to decide whether they agree to assess for the Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The EHCNA asks for evidence from the setting, family and any other professionals involved. It must show desired outcomes for the child as well as their strengths and needs any give a clear picture of their current developmental level as well as what the setting has already put into place to support the child.
