Purple Badge parking scheme

What is the Purple Badge Scheme?
The national 'Blue Badge' scheme offers parking concessions to people with disabilities.
It allows people with a serious or severe physical disability, or who are registered as blind or have a hidden health condition to park close to places they wish to visit.
The badge is personal to you and can be used in any vehicle in which you travel either as a driver or a passenger.
The Government's Blue Badge scheme doesn't apply to central London due to traffic congestion and the high demand for parking space.
Our Purple Badge scheme for disabled residents runs alongside the Blue Badge scheme. This means you will need a:
- Purple Badge for parking in the borough
- Blue Badge for parking outside the borough
To qualify for a Purple Badge you must:
- hold a Blue Badge
- live, work or study in the borough
For more information on the Purple Badge scheme, including contact details and how to apply, visit the page on the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea website.
