Description: | Square of terraced houses. Early-mid C19. Four storeys and basement, stucco. Rusticated ground floor. Continuous iron rail balcony on first floor. Each house has two windows on first floor with architrave surrounds and cornices on consoles. Cill band to second floor. Triglyph frieze and modillioned cornice over second floor windows; rounded metopes. Windows with architrave surrounds on top floor. Cornice and blocking course.Central houses in sides have Ionic porches and a three light window on each floor, the first floor one with cornice, columns and segmental pediment. Nos 16, 17, 18 and 19 also have Ionic porches; Nos 17 and 18 have elaborate 3-light first floor windows with segmental pediments. No 22 is a small, two storey link house.. Stucco. Three sashes. Pedimented door. Balustraded parapet. No 14 has a one storey link building for a porch. Quoins to all angles. Iron area railings. Stone steps to doors. Long rectangular garden in centre of square with trees. |
