Description: | Terrace of houses with shops to ground floor, and bakery to No 46. Circa 1840. Stucco facades. Roof not visible. 3 storeys. Each house 2 windows wide. Centre 2 houses slightly advanced. Rusticated quoins to end houses. Good Victorian plate glass shop fronts to ground floor. Windows square-headed to first floor and segmental headed to second floor; architraved. Sashes, small panes, glazing bars. Cornice above second floor (simplified to Nos 46-48). No 46 contains two bread ovens (still in use) of circa 1860/70 and circa 1890-1900, with shallow brick vaults, tiled floors and cast-iron surrounds; a rare survival |
