Description: | Mausoleum of Tomb of Thomas Fenwick d.1834 Mausoleum of pale yellow (?Bath) limestone. Mason unknown. The lower section, rectangular in plan, has battered sides and a heavy plain door architrave with a door of cast iron below a moulded cornice; the shallow plinth of the upper section, covered with a pedimented roof, is inscribed THE FAMILY TOMB OF THOMAS FENWICK ESQ. and is embellished with a coat of arms and a worn inscription. One of the very earliest monuments in the cemetery, and identical in design to two other mausolea nearby. |
