Description: | Tomb of Henry Kendall. 1853. By H E Kendall, architect; erected in memory of his son. Portland stone, enriched with Minton tiles. Large Gothic headstone with cross within a lobed surround, in front of which is a seated angel, arms crossed, above a coped slab. Trefoils with emblems of masonry. History: H E Kendall, an architect, was the winner of the competition to design the cemetery in 1831 but his Gothic scheme was never built. |
