Determined admission arrangements 2027 to 2028
The law requires all state schools must approve their admissions arrangements in advance of parents applying. The Council is responsible for the admissions for community schools, with the governing body responsible for academies and voluntary aided (church) schools.
All schools must carry out formal consultations of not less than 6 weeks before they make changes to their admissions arrangements. Whether there are changes or not, admissions arrangements for all schools must be published on their website by mid-March each year.

Pan-London Admissions Scheme (PLAS)
The scheme manages state-funded primary and secondary school applications in Greater London and surrounding counties. When parents or carers apply for a school place, they can list up to six schools in any area on one form in order of preference. Schools can't view these preferences when they review applications against their admission criteria.
The system removes preferences until it reaches the highest potential offer on National Offer Day. This reduces the number of children receiving more than one offer or no offer at all.
How to make a complaint
In accordance with Regulation 21 of the Regulations and Section 88 of the SSFA 1998, any person or body who considered that any maintained school or Academy's arrangements are unlawful, or not compliant with the Code or relevant law relating to admissions, can make an objection to the School Adjudicator. Objections must be submitted by 15 May 2026.
