What is the UK Youth Parliament?
The UK Youth Parliament is a group of 300 young people, elected each year, who speak up for young people across the country. As a member, you'll meet other passionate young people and have the chance to influence big decisions.
What do UK Youth Parliament Members do?
- Represent young people’s views to decision-makers at local, regional, and national levels.
- Work on campaigns and projects that focus on issues that matter most to young people.
- Meet important people like MPs, Government Ministers, and Civil Servants to make your voice heard.
- Attend exciting events such as:
- Regional meetings (6 to 10 each year) where you'll plan campaigns and connect with other youth representatives.
- National events like the Annual Sitting and a powerful debate at the House of Commons.
The current Member of UK Youth Parliament for Kensington and Chelsea is Ressa Bakr.
What is the London Youth Assembly?
The London Youth Assembly (LYA) is a new body formed to bring together representatives from different youth forums across London to create positive change for young people, and aid in getting young Londoners engaged and involved in the running of their city.
What do Members London Youth Assembly do?
- Represent their borough at LYA meetings, sub-regional group meetings and functions
- Provide updates on priorities and plans for their sub-regional groups, and borough
- Feed back to their borough the work being done by the LYA
- Joint working with the Chair and Deputy Chair of the LYA on key youth issues.
