Nature Wellbeing for community groups and residents
The Ecology Service runs a nature wellbeing programme for residents in the borough. Connecting with nature provides a wealth of health benefits including:
- reduced stress
- depression
- anxiety
- loneliness
Sessions help residents to connect to their local green spaces and to each other through spending quality time in nature. Sessions are held in green spaces across the borough including:
During the sessions we focus on nature connection and wellbeing through a variety of activities including:
- noticing
- grounding
- exploration
- arts and crafts
- writing and observation
Current programme
Nature wellbeing and gardening sessions are being run in collaboration with The ClementJames Centre. These sessions take place every Tuesday at the ClementJames Centre from 11am-12.30pm, gardening and nature wellbeing on alternate weeks.
