Use Your Voice is a new series of free, thought-provoking conversations designed to help you understand how democracy really works and how you can influence political decisions as an active citizen.
This second session brings together members from a local council, London Assembly, House of Commons and House of Lords to explore representative democracy in the UK.
Together, we’ll examine:
- how representative democracy works
- how people get elected to represent their communities
- what the different tiers of government do
- how individuals and communities can shape political outcomes
Taking place at Kensington Central Library's beautiful lecture theatre, the session is designed to be welcoming, accessible and interactive. Audience members are encouraged to engage with the panel, ask questions and share perspectives but listening is just as welcome.
