Skip licence
You need a licence to put a skip on a highway or public road. No licence is required for private land, but ensure the skip lorry does not damage the public highway.
Roll-on, roll-off storage containers are not allowed in the borough as they do not meet the Builders Skip (Markings) Regulations 1984 and exceed the maximum skip size.
If you do not get a licence, you could be fined up to £1,000.
We issue skip licences and renewals for one month only.
Costs
A skip licence costs £146 and can last up to one month.
