We have been working closely with residents, resident associations and partner organisations to ensure estates are safe, secure and well-managed during Notting Hill Carnival. Take a look at the ways we have been preparing below:
Resident wristbands - were distributed from 17 August via estate managers, with additional wristbands available if needed. Estate managers are also tracking distribution to help ensure residents receive them.
Hoarding and fencing installations began on the same date, with residents kept informed throughout the process.
Inspections - Housing teams are conducting regular inspections of fencing and security measures before and during the event, using a dedicated monitoring process to quickly identify and address any issues. Spare padlocks and chains are also being held in reserve to replace any damaged or missing security equipment.
Meetings - Engagement has been a key focus, with meetings held with resident associations and housing association partners to discuss arrangements and address concerns from previous years. Feedback has been positive, with most residents supporting the continuation of last year's fencing arrangements.
A dedicated Carnival Event Team has been established to monitor estates throughout the weekend, with staff based at Trellick Tower and carrying out regular site visits.
Live communication channels will allow issues to be reported and resolved quickly.
