We are delighted to report that one of our hard-working apprentices, Mickey Power, has just completed his course and achieved Distinctions across the board.
Mickey has been working for the Council’s Housing Management directorate in the Fire Safety team since December 2020.
Whilst carrying out day-to-day duties supporting the Fire Safety team, Mickey has been studying to complete his Level 3 apprenticeship.
When asked how he felt to have achieved such a great result Mickey said:
“I’m very proud to have achieved a Distinction for my Safety, Health, and Environment Technician Level 3 apprenticeship. It was such a fantastic and rewarding qualification to undertake which was tough at times, but it has given me the skills and knowledge to progress in my career.
It has been a real privilege to work in the Fire Safety Team with such talented and knowledgeable individuals.”

Now that his apprenticeship is complete, Mickey hopes to continue his work in the fire safety sector.
Mickey is one of many apprentices working across the Council and is a great example of how working and studying simultaneously can provide great results! If you would like to know more about apprenticeships, you can do so by clicking
