Our Tenancy Home Visit team is encouraging residents to book their annual home visit after another year of positive results.
Over the past year, officers completed 1,800 home visits across the borough. These visits help residents raise concerns, access support and make sure household information is up to date.
During visits, officers reported more than 2,400 repairs, including 172 damp and mould cases. They also found 184 faulty smoke alarms, 58 homes needing new alarms and 128 properties without a carbon monoxide detector.
Home visits also help identify residents who may need extra support. Last year, officers referred 135 residents for individual fire risk assessments, identified hoarding risks and updated more than 300 household records.
Daniel Lewis, who leads the team, said:
Home visits help us understand our residents’ needs and make sure they get the right support. They also help us spot problems early and keep people safe.
The team was on the frontline during the heatwave in late June, having contacted more than 500 vulnerable residents. They got out and about dropping off fans and water for those who needed them.
