We are pleased to announce that Sureserve will be taking on the role of our domestic Gas engineers for the next three to five years.

Some residents may recognise the Sureserve brand, as they have been our acting gas contractors on an interim basis for the past two years.

Residents don't need to take any action. If you have an existing appointment, it will go ahead as planned.

From 1 September 2026, Sureserve Compliance will be our permanent contractors and will be responsible for:

  • Annual gas safety checks and servicing;
  • Repairs to domestic heating and hot water systems;
  • Boiler and heating system breakdowns;
  • Emergency heating and gas-related repairs;
  • Replacement of heating components where required; and
  • Other associated domestic gas works covered by the Council's contract.

Our partnership with Sureserve plays an important role in helping us deliver safe, reliable and high-quality gas services to residents across the borough. Resident safety is at the heart of everything we do, and through our partnership with Sureserve, we are ensuring that gas safety compliance, heating and hot water breakdown services remain key priorities across our housing stock.
