Have you ever had water leak into or from your home?
If you have, you know how disruptive it can be; if not, then you’re lucky!

The Council is generally responsible for the communal pipes that serve the homes we manage and any plumbing within those homes, but leaseholders are responsible for the pipes that are used exclusively in their flat and demise; this includes the tiles, grouting, seals and sealants.

What can you do?
  • Check your pipes, taps and appliances around your home for signs of wear and tear
  • Check sealants and seals, baths, basins and worktops
  • Try not to let washing machines or dishwashers run when no one will be home
  • Check for blockages in your drains
  • Keep an eye out for damp and patches on walls and ceilings, as these can be early indicators of a leak
What if a leak is coming from a neighbouring flat?
  • Knock on your neighbour's door to try and establish the source of the problem.
  • Inform Customer Services (0800 137 111) about the leak (and do the same if the leak is in a communal area)

If you notice any signs of a potential water leak, please report it straight away to your repairs team by calling 0800 137 111 or by emailing [email protected]
