We’ve just finished laying two kilometres of underground pipes that will deliver heating and hot water to the homes and businesses on the Notting Dale Heat Network.
Councillors and residents joined staff on the Lancaster West Estate to celebrate the milestone last week.

(00:00) They have done almost 2km of pipeline, new pipelines. We have just opened it and I'm very happy to have it. So I'm here at Lanquest where we're celebrating a milestone in the delivery of our heat network, making it a 21st century estate. The heat network here is a key part of the refurbishment of the whole estate.
(00:33) And part of a 21st century estate is a modern green heap system. So this is going to really reduce emissions which is great for everybody. And then if it's your home, the energy efficiency is going to be absolutely excellent. And we've done 350 homes already had the new heating controls in.
With more than £35 million committed, we’re investing in providing reliable and sustainable heating and hot water for decades to come.
The next phase of the work will be installing energy centres, a thermal store, and air source heat pumps.
The heat network was co-designed with residents as part of the wider refurbishment of the Lancaster West Estate. Our thanks to all residents who’ve taken part in the co-design.
