Special events for children and young people: highlights

 


Mini Sparks with the Royal College of Music

  • Wednesdays - weekly until Wednesday 26 February
  • 11am to 11.45am
  • North Kensington Library

Join us for these special weekly sessions by the Royal College of Music where musical learning happens through play.

Each week there will be live musicians, instrument free-play, new and familiar songs, storytelling and lots of fun with puppets and props.

Suitable for children aged 4 and under. No need to book, just turn up. Term time only.


Chinese New Year crafts

  • Wednesday 22 January
  • 3.30pm to 4.30pm
  • North Kensington Library

Come along and make a dragon puppet from paper and card.

Suitable for children aged 5 and over.

This is a free event with limited places available so turn up early.


Year of the Rat crafts

  • Thursday 23 January
  • 3.45pm to 4.45pm
  • Chelsea Library

Join us for a special craft session to celebrate Chinese New Year. Draw a rat, do some colouring or even make a rat to take home.

This is a free event and no need to book, just turn up.

 


Superworm and his friends, nature event

Kensington and Chelsea's Ecology Centre will be at the library for a special nature event.

Come along to hear the children’s classic, Superworm, then meet some of the exotic invertebrates  they keep in the centre. Such as Charlie the Madagascar Tiger hissing cockroach and Alex the African land snail.

 


 Valentine's Day Crafts

  • Thursday 13 February
  • 3.45pm to 4.45pm
  • Chelsea Library

Join us for a special craft session - you can draw a heart, make a card or colour in a love heart bag to take home.

This is a free event and no need to book, just turn up.

 


Meet the minibeasts

Charlie Cockroach and Alex the snail invite you to come and meet them and their minibeasts friends at the library.

Hosted by a minibeast expert from the Holland Park Ecology Centre; it will be a chance to learn fascinating facts about them and if you are brave enough - you can hold and stroke them.
