Special events for children and young people

Notting Hill Gate Library will be closed for four weeks from Monday 5 August 2019, due to essential repairs. We apologise that this is taking place during the holiday period. The library will reopen as normal on Monday 2 September 2019. The closest alternative libraries are North Kensington Library and Kensington Central Library where you can access full library services, including the Summer Reading Challenge for children. In addition, you can reserve and renew library items and access our online resources 24/7. These services and more are available via our library app from the App Store and Google Play.

Special events for children and young people: highlights

Summer Reading Challenge

Do you have what it takes to complete the Summer Reading Challenge? Your mission is to finish reading six books during the summer holidays. You can read whatever you like for the challenge just as long as they are borrowed from the library and you’ll receive special awards for each book you read. The Summer Reading Challenge is open to children aged four to 11.

Taking part in the challenge helps children improve their reading skills, knowledge and confidence during the holidays. Join the challenge at your local library! We also have some out of this world activities taking place this summer.

Tiny Tunes

Come and enjoy singing, using shakers and dancing for this fun musical session with specialist entertainers, Tiny Tunes!
