Library room hire
We have a range of spaces that members of the public can hire for events such as workshops, meetings or local groups.
Kensington Central Library
Kensington Central library has a:
- lecture theatre
- meeting room with kitchen
There no disabled access or disabled toilet facilities attached to the lecture theatre and meeting room.
Location
A few minutes' walk from High Street Kensington tube station on the District and Circle lines.
Lecture theatre and meeting room hire
The lecture theatre has:
- seating for up to 162 using tiered seating
- a stage with a podium and screen for presentations
- facilities to use a projector with a laptop or an overhead projector
The meeting room:
- holds up to 50 people
- has an en suite kitchen for preparing refreshments (bring your own refreshments)
- has a grand piano
Availability
- available to hire for a minimum of two hours on Monday to Friday and a minimum of three hours on Saturday
- not available on Sundays or Bank Holidays

Make a booking
You need to make your booking at least one month in advance. To do this:
- email libcenbookings@rbkc.gov.uk
- or apply in writing to Room Bookings, Kensington Central Library, 12 Phillimore Walk, London W8 7RX
You will need to tell us:
- your name and contact details
- your reason for hiring the room/equipment
- when (dates and times) the room/equipment is required
If the room is available:
- we will send you a booking form
- you will need to sign and return the form with full payment (cheque or cash) to confirm your booking at least 14 days before the hire date

Brompton Library
Brompton Library has a meeting room with separate kitchen.
Location
A few minutes' walk from Earls Court underground station, and the C1 bus stops almost outside the library.
Meeting room hire
Brompton Library has a meeting room with a separate kitchen that is available for hire by members of the public. The room has:
- seating for up to 30 people
- tables and chairs
- a small kitchen for preparing your own refreshments
- toilet facilities
The room is available:
- Monday to Saturday
- Not avaiabile on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Costs
The minimum booking time is two hours. Extra time is charged per hour.
