Council meetings to be held in person once again

Council meetings will return to a familiar format this month as we will start to hold in person Council, Committee and Leadership Team meetings at Kensington Town Hall.

This change comes as the Regulations that allowed local councils to hold remote meetings over the last year expired today Thursday 6 May. This means that any Council, Committee and Leadership Team meetings must take place in person from Friday 7 May.

We expect to hold most of these meetings in the Council Chamber at Kensington Town Hall, to allow the meeting participants to maintain social distancing and follow Covid-secure guidelines.

Space for the public will be strictly limited under current social distancing rules. We are currently working on plans to facilitate public participation whilst maintaining capacity and social distancing restrictions.

Residents can still watch the webcasts of all our Council meetings remotely however, they will be unable to participate in the meetings virtually.

As and when Government guidance changes, we will review these arrangements with a view to admitting more public to meetings and to accommodating in-person representations.

View all of our public meetings via a livestream on our YouTube channel.
