Nominations are being welcomed for the 2021 Kensington and Chelsea Mayor’s Awards, which celebrate people who have gone above and beyond to serve their local community.

The awards recognise anyone who has improved life in the borough and for the first time will be given in four categories – Individual Contribution, Young Person, Local Community Organisation and Coronavirus Response.

Winners will be selected by a five-person judging panel comprised of Mayor Cllr Gerard Hargreaves; Council Leader Cllr Elizabeth Campbell; Cllr Pat Mason, Leader of the Council’s Labour Group; Michael Ashe, CEO of Volunteer Centre Kensington and Chelsea; and Angela Spence, CEO of Kensington and Chelsea Social Council.

Cllr Gerard Hargreaves, Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea said:

“This year has been a challenging one, with the Coronavirus pandemic affecting all of us in one way or another.

“Seeing the way that local communities and individuals have gone out of their way to support the borough’s residents has been inspirational and a source of great pride.

“Therefore, this year we have decided to introduce some new categories to the Mayor’s Awards.”
