While Covid-19 has put a dampener on most public events this year, you can’t keep a great festival down and Notting Hill Carnival: Access All Areas is going online for 2020. To celebrate, the Council wants to share the best bits of carnivals gone-by, remembering the legacy and diversity of Europe’s biggest street festival.

Those who have experienced carnival have many treasured memories, from the sights and the sounds to the dancing crowds, the smell of jerk chicken to a Carnival romance. The Council is calling on everyone to dig through their old photos and share memories of you living your best life to feature on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, with the hashtag #MyBestCarnival.

Even though the event cannot go ahead in person this year, there are still major plans to celebrate. A three day programme of digital content will begin on Saturday 29 August and run through until Monday 31 August. In the run up to the event #MyBestCarnival photos and memories will feature on the Council’s social media channels.

Recognising that the BAME community is more at risk, join us in protecting the Carnival elders by staying off the streets and enjoying Carnival at home but not alone.
