It's competition time! The Council has launched its latest competition with the festive season in mind as part of K&C Christmas, showcasing the fantastic places to visit, shop, dine and explore in the borough.
One lucky winner will have the chance to get their hands on a fabulous Christmas hamper filled with some amazing goodies from local businesses.
Up for grabs is:
- Dinner for two and a bottle of prosecco at the Copthorne Tara Hotel
- A family ticket entry into the Museum of Brands
- A box of bakery treats from Romulo Café
- Baklava and pink tea from the Pink Tea Cafe
The best part is entry to the competition is completely FREE, all you need to do is:
- Post a photo at your favourite festive spot in the borough, on either Twitter, Instagram or Facebook;
- Tag the Council on the relevant channel (@RBKC on Twitter, @kensingtonandchelsea on Instagram, or Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on Facebook);
- Include hashtag #OurRBKC
The competition will run for a period of approximately four weeks ending on 23.59 on 23 December 2021 (GMT) a winner will be announced shortly after. This competition is for those aged 18+ only.

Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before you submit a picture to be considered for the competition.
About the candidates
1. Anyone is eligible to enter competition (subject to being aged eighteen (18) years old or over). Members of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) staff (either permanent or temporary, current or former), interns, contractors and/or sponsors may participate, but are not eligible to win.
2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. RBKC may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
3. Participants must follow the photo competition rules to be eligible to win.
4. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
Technical specifications for submitted photos
5. The photo(s) must be posted as a high-resolution JPEG (as high as your camera will allow). The photo must not contain violence, profanity, sex or direct attacks on individuals or organisations. Any entries deemed offensive will be immediately disqualified.
6. The photo must be an original creation - no copyrighted images may be used.
7. The participant must certify and warrant that the submitted photo(s) does not violate the rights of a third party or any copyright. RBKC is not responsible for intellectual property violations that might have resulted through the submissions of photos.
8. RBKC will not accept entries that are:
i. automatically generated by computer;
ii. completed by third parties or in bulk;
iii. illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
iv. photocopies; or
v. incomplete.
Judging and notification of selected photographers
9. After the competition closes at 23.59 on 23 December 2021 (GMT), qualifying photos will be judged on adherence to the competition challenge through its message clarity, composition and overall presentation. RBKC will appoint a panel to judge the entries. The panel’s decision is final. Any attempt by a participant to influence the result or subvert the photo competition will lead to immediate disqualification.10. The selected winner will be announced in December 2021 and the participant will be notified via Instagram, Twitter or Facebook where the entry was made.
11. If a participant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, RBKC reserves the right to offer the prize to the next best entry.

12. RBKC, as provided by the businesses involved, will be providing the following prizes to the winner:
• A box of bakery treats from Romulo Café
• Dinner for two with a bottle of prosecco at the Copthorne Tara Hotel
• Baclava and pink tea from the Pink Tea Café

Rights and ownership
13. By submitting their photos to RBKC, participants agree to grant RBKC in perpetuity a royalty-free, non-exclusive and irrevocable license to reproduce, publish or otherwise use, and authorise others to use the photo in any manner and media, including, but not limited to the right to, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate in printed or electronic media even if they are not the winning entries.
14. Participants may be asked to take part in publicity activities.
General
15. RBKC will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
16. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions
17. RBKC reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the contest, at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary.
18. RBKC reserves the right to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition.
19. RBKC will only process your personal data as set out in:
(i) Fair Processing Notice | Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (rbkc.gov.uk) ; and
(ii) these terms and conditions
20. The personal information provided to RBKC by the participants shall only be used for the purposes of this contest. Personal information may include the full name and social media handle of the participant
21. The competition will launch on Monday 29 November 2021 and will be live until 23.59 on 23 December 2021 (GMT).
22. Applicants must be aged 18 or over to enter.
23. Participation in the contest, including being selected as the photo challenge winner in no manner constitutes an endorsement or support by RBKC of the candidates’ views or aims or of any products or services. Candidates shall not advertise or otherwise claim to have obtained any such endorsement or support. The RBKC name and logo are the property of RBKC and should not be used in any manner whatsoever without the prior written consent of RBKC.
24. RBKC must approve in writing and in advance any statement, advertisement, press release or similar communication in any media as to the contents thereof and the manner of its presentation and publication, relating to any candidate’s participation in the competition.
25. RBKC has made the assumption that these terms and conditions are understood by the entrant.
26. If you do not understand any of these provisions or need further clarification, please direct message the Council on the relevant social media platform (@RBKC on Twitter, @KensingtonandChelseaCouncil Instagram or ‘Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’ on Facebook), prefacing the message with ‘Competition Terms and Conditions Help’.
27. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by you, RBKC may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
28. RBKC reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize and/or competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
29. Insofar as is permitted by law, RBKC, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner, or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of RBKC, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
30. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
