Have your say on the future of adult social care

Residents in Kensington and Chelsea are being encouraged to help shape the future of adult social care as part of a major national conversation about how care should work.

The Casey Commission has launched its Big Conversation on Care, inviting people across the country to share their experiences and ideas about adult social care. The consultation follows a recent visit to Kensington and Chelsea by Commission Chair Baroness Louise Casey, who came to see the Council’s Outstanding-rated adult social care service and hear about the support being provided to residents.

Now the Commission wants to hear directly from people who draw on care and support, care for someone else, work in adult social care or just have views about how care should be provided in the future.

Cllr Lucy Knight, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health, said:

“Social care touches almost every family. Most of us will have experience of it at some point in our lives – whether we need support ourselves, care for someone we love or see a friend or relative relying on it.

 

“We were really proud to welcome Baroness Casey to Kensington and Chelsea recently and show her our Outstanding adult social care service, as well as talk honestly about the pressures facing councils and the care system.

 

“This is a chance to have your say about what good care should look like in the future, and I encourage everyone to get involved because the people who give and receive care need to be at the heart of what comes next.”
