Help shape Notting Hill Gate for the future

Published: Tuesday 11 October 2022

People who live, work and study in Notting Hill Gate (NHG) are invited to attend the launch of Notting Hill Gate’s Local Action Plan, to learn more about the proposed priorities for the high street and to help shape its future.

Almost 600 people have already responded to the high streets programme to share their views on what matters most to them. Local Action Plans will continue this conversation, providing further opportunities for the community to feedback the changes they would like to see on their high streets, starting with Notting Hill Gate.

The launch event will take place on Monday 17 October from 3.30pm to 7pm, Essex Church (Kensington Unitarians), 112 Palace Gardens Terrace, W8 4RT. Everyone is invited to attend the drop-in session, share their priorities and aspirations for the future of NHG and learn more about how to get involved in the Local Action Plan.

Cllr Josh Rendall, Lead Member for Economy and Employment said:

“It’s an exciting time for Notting Hill Gate – this area is one of London’s most distinctive centres with its rich ties to the arts and culture and a thriving evening economy.

“This is an opportunity for us to work with the local community to shape the future of Notting Hill Gate now, and well into the future. By having your say on the Local Action Plan, your own local expertise can help pave the way for innovation on the high street that supports our businesses and boost the local economy. I encourage everyone to attend the launch event or share their views online.”

The Local Action Plan will outline potential improvements for Notting Hill Gate, from accessibility and safety, to strengthening its identity and creating an attractive public realm. The Local Action Plans are independent from the Council’s Local Plan and will grow and change over time, in line with the community priorities.

All feedback gathered in partnership with the local community will help to form the framework of the NHG Local Action Plan.

The borough’s local action plans aim to create welcoming and accessible, green and healthy high streets. The Design Competition winning design will also feed into this work.

The local community can also share their views on the NHG Local Action Plan in the following ways:
