Revitalising Earl’s Court Road

Residents, businesses and visitors to Earl’s Court can now enjoy a new and improved Hogarth Road, one of our Amazing Spaces and Earl’s Court’s oldest and most characterful streets.
The £800K ambitious project has delivered wider pavements, new trees, upgraded street surface and a more welcoming environment, helping to support the local community with more opportunities for trading and events and to help curb anti-social behaviour.

Councillor Cem Kemahli, Lead Member for Planning and Public Realm, said:

“Hogarth Road is at the heart of a vibrant local community acting as a front door to Earls Court, with independent shops, cafés and businesses.

"We’re proud to have delivered a new amazing space for the area, whether you’re passing through, shopping or stopping to enjoy an al fresco drink. The new look road is cleaner, greener and more welcoming environment that benefits residents, businesses and visitors alike and has great potential for community events.”

Outdoor hospitality

Hogarth Road, just steps away from Earl’s Court station, is at the heart of a vibrant local community, with independent shops, cafés and businesses.
The works include a dedicated loading bay to support deliveries, new planting to boost biodiversity and air quality and measures to calm traffic, making it easier for people to enjoy outdoor café seating. Careful thought has been given to preserving vehicle access while creating a safer, more attractive space for everyone.

Working with the community

Improvements to the street were shaped by feedback from local people and businesses, who called for better cleanliness, improved safety, and more greenery.
Construction on the scheme began in October 2024 and was completed on time after six months of works. The consultation feedback on the new Local Action Plan, which includes a full list of other interventions for the area, can be found here
