Investing in amazing spaces for our young children

Children in North Kensington are now able to use new slides, climbing nets and trampolines as part of a £340,000 refurbishment of two play areas in Avondale Park.

The Council consulted residents in 2021 and worked with Avondale School and Miss Delany’s Nursery to get local children’s feedback on what should be in the park.

Local children will now have more opportunities to play on safe and enjoyable equipment in a secure environment.

Cllr Emma Will, Lead Member for Leisure said: “We are committed to making the borough greener, safer and fairer and our parks contribute significantly to this.  You can see the children who have already played with the new equipment having a wonderful time and I’m sure parents will welcome the variety that is on offer in the park.  We want residents to be able to have their say and ensure that local communities get the facilities they need, and these new play areas are a great example of this co-design approach.”
