Kensington and Chelsea Council 2026 local elections results

Residents of Kensington and Chelsea voted in the local elections on May 7 2026, returning the Conservative Party as the majority group on the Council having won 34 out of 50 seats. 

Voters turned out to have their say on the make-up of the new Council with 35,344 casting a ballot – 37.3 per cent of the total electorate.

The newly elected Council is comprised of 34 Conservative councillors, 7 Labour and Co-operative, 6 Labour and 3 Liberal Democrat councillors. 

Leader of the Kensington and Chelsea Conservative Group, Cllr Elizabeth Campbell said:

"Thank you to all the officers here - you've all been incredibly calm, incredibly professional and I can't thank you enough.

"It's time to go home, time to go to bed, time to wake up for a new dawn and to deliver what we promised on the doorstep."
