All 11 parks entered by Kensington and Chelsea have once again been awarded prestigious Green Flags by Keep Britain Tidy, recognising them as well-managed, high-quality green spaces that are accessible to all.
Among the award-winning locations is Holland Park, which has proudly held a Green Flag for 24 consecutive years, and Lancaster West Estate in North Kensington.
Councillor Emma Will, Lead Member for Property, Parks and Leisure, said:
“Our residents enjoy the borough’s parks; they provide an oasis of green in one of the most densely populated boroughs in London. We continue to invest in our parks, with a newly refurbished water play area in Kensington Memorial Park and ongoing improvements at Westfield Park. I’m also delighted that we are working closely with residents on a new open space on Lots Road, which will open later in 2026.”

Judges praised many of the parks, including:
Cremorne Gardens for being “a welcoming and inviting park with amazing views”
Holland Park had the judges saying: “…the beds and grassed areas were all very well maintained despite the huge footfall”
While at Avondale Park judges spoke to residents which led them to say: “…impromptu comments from park users on day of visiting expressed how much the park and staff who manage it are appreciated”.
The judges also recognised how well the Council and its contractor, Idverde work together: “…staff contractor and park management work collaboratively and supportively to achieve great results for all visitors”.
