Residents in Kensington and Chelsea looking to launch their career in the social care sector are invited to attend the ‘Home Care and Residential Care Jobs Fair’ on Wednesday 2 March from 10am to 3pm at The Curve, Bard Road.

The Jobs Fair will connect local people to local jobs in the care sector, showcasing a host of leading industry professionals and organisations with 20 organisations set to attend – including local businesses such as Loveday and Co, as well as Health Vision UK and County Healthcare Group Ltd.

People from all backgrounds are welcome to attend to learn more about what a career in the care sector can offer. Qualifications and prior experience are not required, as successful candidates will receive training to carry out their roles.

Those that enjoy working with people and making a difference to people’s lives are encouraged to come along and see what’s on offer. On the day there will be a range of live job opportunities on offer, including opportunities for full and part-time roles and apprenticeships. During the event, attendees will have the added benefit of discussing roles directly with employers, with the potential to secure an all-important job interview.

Cllr Catherine Faulks, Lead Member for Economy, Employment and Innovation at the Council said:

“The Jobs Fair is the perfect opportunity for those seeking to kickstart their career in social care and learn more about the care sector - whether it’s your first job, you’re changing careers or getting back into work.

“I encourage everyone interested in a career in social care to stop by the Fair, to meet the employers, ask any questions they may have, and potentially leave with an interview opportunity.”

There are currently around 725 working carers in the borough and around 1,500 residents in the borough receiving care, this equates to 1 per cent of the population.

Cllr Kemahli, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health at the Council, said:

“Our local health and social care professionals are a pillar of our community. They care for our loved ones when we can’t and provide a friendly, comforting face to those who need them most.

“With around 1,500 in the borough receiving care and support, the care sector is always on the lookout for caring people to help them deliver these important services. For those interested in a career in care, the Jobs Fair is an invaluable opportunity to learn more and take the next steps to launch their career.”
