New Youth Mayor and Youth Council Cabinet elected

A new Youth Mayor and Youth Council Cabinet has been announced for the borough.

The new youth mayor Noha accepts her new position

Noha Chentouf was named as the borough’s new Youth Mayor following an intensive period of campaigning, which saw 1,380 young people go to the polls at pop-up polling stations at schools and colleges around the borough. 


Outgoing Youth Mayor AJ Tumlos handed over the reins following his two-year run, during which time he and the Youth Council campaigned for increased access to local sports pitches and fundraised to build a well in Gambia. 


New Youth Mayor Noha Chentouf, said: “Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. I'm so grateful to have been given this role."


Cllr Sarah Addenbrooke, lead member for communities, said: “Being part of a Youth Council is one of the best ways for young people to build their confidence, voice their views, and be involved in the community. A huge well done to all those who have got involved. I look forward to working with Noha and the new youth cabinet the important issues affecting young residents.”
