Over 4,400 resident votes cast for the Grenfell Projects Fund 2

Published: Thursday 10 March 2022

More than 4,400 votes have been cast by North Kensington residents to help allocate funding to local community projects for the Grenfell Projects Fund 2.

The public vote, which opened between Tuesday 22 February and Tuesday 8 March 2022 and welcomed votes from almost 1,400 North Kensington residents, was hosted online and invited the community to score video applications and project summaries so they could have their say about which projects received funding.

A pot of £600k is available for projects that directly support residents in North Kensington’s seven wards, with an extra £600k available for experienced providers who have the potential to increase capacity and deliver their project for up to three years.

With the vote now closed, the RBKC team has been working hard to collate the public scores and make sure the eligibility criteria were adhered to. This means that, if a resident voted for the same project more than once, only their first submission was accepted and their subsequent votes were removed. Votes were also only be accepted from residents living in North Kensington, or from North Kensington residents who declared they were currently located outside the borough.

Now that these votes have been collated, they will be combined with scores provided by the Resident-led Panel and the Council’s Grenfell Community Team to decide how the funding will be distributed.

Information about the projects that were awarded funding will then be uploaded onto the RBKC website, along with details about how to get involved.

Following the second round of the Fund, we will be working with the Resident-led Panel to host a public meeting where North Kensington residents can provide feedback on the Grenfell Projects Fund 2. We will publish more information about this meeting across our platforms at a later date.
