Parking fine scams

Published: Thursday 8 January 2026

We're aware of scams involving texts about parking fines. These texts often link to a fake website to try and steal your details.

The messages claim you have an outstanding penalty charge notice and urgent payment is required to avoid further action.

We'll never use text messages to contact you about parking fines, even if we've sent you a penalty charge notice. We'll only use letters or secure emails.

If you receive a suspicious text message:

  • do not click on any links in the text, they are false
  • do not make a payment or provide your bank details
  • delete the text message

If you have any questions or concerns about parking tickets issued in Kensington and Chelsea, email [email protected].

To report a scam, forward the text to 7726 (SPAM) and report it online to Action Fraud.
