Cllr Emma Will, lead member for culture, leisure and community safety:

“We are deeply saddened to hear of violence resulting in a fatality at Notting Hill Carnival on Monday. Our thoughts are with the victim, their family and friends at this difficult time.

“Violence has no place on our streets at Carnival or any other time. It is a great shame that an overall positive, happy and well-organised Carnival ended with this tragedy. I’d like to thank everyone who celebrated this year’s Carnival peacefully and the many police officers, council staff and community wardens who worked tirelessly across the weekend. We will continue to support the police in their enquiries wherever we can.”
