Supporting Ukraine – what can you do to help?

The war in Ukraine is causing a humanitarian crisis, with people fleeing their homes and in need of vital aid. International aid charities are supporting people in Ukraine and on the borders. A small donation can go a long way to support people in need. Please ensure that you are donating to a registered charity via a secure payment method before donating. Here are some links to charities accepting donations now:

The UK government will match pound for pound up to £20 million donated by the public in this appeal which will provide food, water, shelter and medical assistance.

Running a crisis appeal to help people affected get food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes or shelter.

Water engineers and doctors aim to people access clean water and repair homes damaged by heavy fighting.

Gets critical aid to families misplaced by conflict.

Aiming to reach 3.5 million vulnerable children and their families, distributing winter clothing, blankets, cash and providing mental health support and education.

Provides emergency shelter, repairs to homes damaged by shelling winter clothing, emergency cash assistance and psychological support.

Supports projects offering emergency medical care, food, shelter, clothing, legal support, mental health support and support to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Helps with emergency medical supplies, first aid kits, transportation and critical services.

A global support fund, set up by the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK.

Emergency appeal, organised by a community partnership by Ukrainian churches and organisations in Great Britain

The Council stands ready to support people fleeing conflict and persecution. We have offered logistical support for the Ukrainian Embassy to make parking easier for staff in the area.
